'Loaded Wheelbarrow'
This is based directly upon the 'loaded wheelbarrow', with the bird motifs of my own devising. Such an example is typical of the slightly lower standard as discussed above, as the bird motif is somewhat contrived, albeit remaining of a sufficient quality as to be worthy of inclusion.
The following three tessellations, 1 a, b, and c are essentially minor variations concerning the interior detail of the bird motif, in which different views are shown (emphasised in colour), with 'belly' for 1a, 'back' for 1b and belly and back in combination for 1c. As an aside, note how difficult it is to identify the motif of these wireframes by eye alone. The addition of colour aids definition, as discussed in Essay ** Colouration and Contrast

This shows one possible colouration of the tiling, undertaken as a colour study. The premise here is one of what I term as 'coloured ribbons' running through this, which is more easily seen at the extremities. In the central patch, this is not so readily discernable. also note, In conjunction with the comments concerning the three wireframes above, the motifsare now more readily seen. |
